Olive Tree buffet at Intercontinental Hotel Singapore is one of my favourite buffet restaurants. It’s true that there is always very limited spread but quality is what I value in a buffet. And I really find Olive Tree buffet excellent for its quality.
I started with the salad collection, and I must say that it was really good! The green leaves were very fresh, crisp and crunchy, and we especially loved the nuts. And it was so good that I went for two rounds.
And don’t miss the pancakes at the dessert section; if it happens to be served. If not, then the fantastic range of chocolates will attract you towards them and the ice cream served was even more impressive.
Next you should have prawns in cream sauce, freshly completed over the counter, was extraordinary. I had second helpings, despite me not being a huge seafood fan. The crayfish in tomato sauce was also heavenly.
The outstanding mentions include the roasted lamb, which was tremendously tender and full of flavour; the chicken ragout which was all creamy, melts in your mouth goodness. Pasta was a fairly ordinary affair except for the cheese ravioli which was pretty good.
Fish tends to be done well too. Despite being a Mediterranean restaurant, Olive Tree also serves a variety of sushi and sashimi.
In terms of service, Olive Tree is excellent, the staff are very attentive, friendly and helpful. Plates were taken away and replaced quickly. Overall, I had a great experience at Intercontinental Olive Tree buffet restaurant.
